How to care for your opal
Please give the same care and attention to your opal as you would
to all other precious gemstones. Opals are slightly porous and you
should wash your black, boulder or white opal in only fresh cold
water. Avoid contact with soap, creams, cleaning powder or abrasives.
A
thin coating of glycerine may be wiped over the opal every 12
months to preserve the stone in pristine condition.
Doublet or triplet opals should not be placed in water, but cleaned
professionally where necessary.
